Ayurveda & Unani are a holistic and one of the oldest branches of medicine that imparts complete knowledge about one’s health, various ailments that might affect and the different ways the ailments can be treated. The term “Ayurveda” is derived from two Sanskrit words, “Ayu” meaning “life” or and “Veda” meaning “science” or “sacred knowledge.” Hence, it is also known as the “Science of Life” or the “Mother of Healing”
Ayurveda helps to maintain good health, and to prevent disease to promote quality of life and long life. It focuses on prevention of diseases and helps to cure them. It pays more attention to organism energy and their functions for the destruction of the cause.
From an alternative method of healthcare, Ayurveda is unwaveringly moving towards center stage owing to the challenging concerns faced globally in regards to the modern healthcare system. Covid-19 has proven to be a blessing in disguise for the Ayurvedic field as India continues to demonstrate the potential of Ayush to the world against this pandemic.
The Ministry of Ayush is doing a great job and has been playing a very proactive role in promoting the Ayush System of Medicine with introduction of new regulations for strengthening of the AYUSH system.
